The advent of new digital media reading devices, such as the Amazon Kindle and the Sony Reader, has meant that traditional publications such as newspapers and magazines are now available in digital formats. There are many benefits digital magazines and these include:

- Portable - many digital magazines can be held on a single reading device and this saves having to carry numerous paper editions around. This is ideal for people on the move or people who need access to a lot of information.
